Jimmy first discovered salsa in 2001, and
was so inspired he went on to found 'Salsa Abu Dhabi' a
while later. With one of the warmest and most
welcoming smiles in salsa, combined with his infectious
good nature, Jimmy was a huge success as Salsa Abu
Dhabi's lead instructor and introduced La Rueda to Abu
Dhabi in 2002 where it has grown in popularity ever
since....
His team was the first from Abu
Dhabi to compete in the Dubai Bacardi Salsa Cup, and in
2003 Salsa Abu Dhabi was given an honorary award for
their efforts promoting salsa in the Emirates. In the same
year they organised the first ever Abu Dhabi Salsa Cup,
with a goal of encouraging the new generation of
salseros to push themselves ever
higher.
After moving
to Englland, Jimmy Started the The Latin Connection, based
in Newcastle. Within a year he founded the
Latin Connection Dance Team and LBS
Student Performance team. The two teams of salsa addicts
have gone from strength to strength planned
to perform/performed in various
locations regionally around the UK, including
Broadway theatre, Streets of Dance, York
weekender, International Festival for arts and
Culture, Salsa Royale, Leeds, Malta International
Salsa Congress,Leeds Salsa Congress, Salsa Kingdom, Abu Dhabi Salsa Festival
, Latin Connection appeared in
various TV adverts as 'Get into Newcastle' BBC/ITV as

In October 2008, Jimmy was invited to Abu dhabi
and was given 'Award of Recognition' for
all the hard work put into the Salsa community
instructing, promoting and organizing Salsa in Abu
Dhabi, presented by Abu Dhabi Salsa / Emirates in an
event made for the purpose in Abu Dhabi

Locally in Newcastle - For
the past 3 years in Newcastle Uni where classes have
grown from
success to another
,
and since 2010 now teaches to one of Newcastle
hots spots - Bar Beyond - The Gate. He also guest teaches and
Performs with Latin Connection dance team in various major Regional, National
and International festivals in UK and abroad.
Latin Connection now organizes Teesside
Latin Festival with Teesside Univ twice a year. Latin Connection
events are relaxed, fun and friendly, and in a
comparatively short time they have built a strong following aiming
to have fun all over.
In Jan 2010, Latin Connection Dance Team
were voted runner up Top UK newcomer 2009 in UK SALSA
AWARDS ... They are an enthusiastic bunch with big
dreams, and the future is looking very bright.
