Teesside Festival is the first and largest Salsa dance festival of its kind in the Newcastle, Teesside and North East and heading towards one of the biggest in the UK. In 2013 it was awarded outstanding acievement to entertainement as a Runner up Best Music and Dance Festival by Latin UK Awards (Air Europa LUKAS Awards 2013)

The Festival is on TWO DAYS , 45+ WORKSHOPS , 16+ Hours of social dancing & parties, Massive line up of Regional and International artists and DJs, TOP Shows, line ups , animations, an amazing venue, very affordable food and drinks , and its till 3:00 am .. then continue to our famous after parties!!!

KIZOMBA Festival is part of TEESSIDE FESTIVAL
For the FIRST time in the region we will have a kizomba festival within Teesside Festival ! DEDICATED KIZOMBA Workshops separate room parallel to the other workshops AND dedicated kizomba room in the night with parties, DJs and artists all enjoying this massive kizomba craze!

 

DARLINGTON STREET CARNIVAL 28th April - Now part of Teesside Festival

Darlington Street Carnival takes place on 28th April on the second day of the festival. There will Animations, shows, displays, line ups with a host of Top UK dancers and artists. It from 12:00-2:00 pm - Free to public, suitable for families and no experience or partner required. Location Skinnergate Darlington outside Voodoo Cafe.

About Teesside Festivals

Launched for the first time in 2009, Teesside festival is the first ever of its caliber in the North East and has attracted dancers and artists from all over the UK and abroad.. After 4 very successful festivals, Teesside festival 5 , returns on 27-28 April 2013. Currently one of the biggest in the UK of this kind and was Awarded Runner up UK Special Event in the latest UK Salsa Central awards. We are thrilled that Teesside festival has been awarded outstanding acheivement to Entertainement in UK Latin Awards 2013 as Runner up - Best Music and Dance festival

Teesside Festivals are Organised by Latin Connection - A leading Salsa and Latin Dance Company based in Newcastle and North East, organizing events in North East, and previously via its founder in Dubai and Abu Dhabi for many years...The venue is the unbeatable Teesside Uni Student Union - Award winning best Venue By Best Bar None Awards, and its not hard to see why! And Voodoo Cafe Sunday with its fantastic facilities and selection of foods and drinks!

The Latin Connection are currently firmly established in the Latin Dance Scene and with its salsa dance classes, through its founder has organized successful events in UK, Abu Dhabi , Dubai for a nearly decade and have been awarded 'promoting Latin dance in Emirates' Dubai Salsa Cup 2005, Abu Dhabi 'Award of Recognition 2008 and runner up New comer in awards 2009 - the latter for their dance team. in 2010/11 Teesside Festival was awarded Runner up UK special Event.

Teesside Festival serves to showcase the North East Talent and Teesside in organizing a dance event attracting the creme of the north East artists and showcasing internationally renown artists.. With Four Function rooms holding the workshops, more than 500 attending last year's event, the incredible feedback and support we had on the workshops and parties and shows, we intend to work even harder to bring an even bigger and better festival this time!

We take pride in our very affordable prices and high quality Event and artists. Its unlikely you can find an event with these Artists, Shows and Workshops at this price... and we intend to keep it this way!

With the event topping the biggest in its category for north east for the 4th consequetive time last year, Hundreds attending the event last year, Full packed 4 simultaneous workshops, Packed dance floor all night - you are probably making the right choice because this time we intend to make it even bigger! Artists

This year In Teesside Festival 5 we will cater for all major styles and levels and that's what makes our Festival Special! From total beginners to very advanced dancers and new this year some master workshops, we will bring you a full scale and lots of depth in Cuban Salsa, Rueda, Afro Cuban, Body movement/isolation, Ladies styling, Son, Rumba, CBL Salsa on 1 and 2. Plus for keen dancers we will include Bachata , Kizomba, Reggaeton, musicality!

We also will include this year a full beginners course in both Cuban and CBL salsa! 

The bottom line is we have included different style artists, Djs, Workshops and party to make you have a great time and we guarantee this !

'' I have always thought outside the box. To me events are about making everyone have a good time... My first ever reasonably sized event, I had to organize was a fashion show...Oh, that was many years ago, before I got hooked in Salsa!

I thought I did well in preparing. I went ahead with the event. It was a complete failure. From then I learnt, its not about what I want, its about what people want. Listening to feedback no matter how small it is, working on details, accepting critisizm no matter how hard it may sound ..... importantly meeting people's expectations and making them have a really good time.... I have gone a long way since then, and I am still learning every day..

Successful organizing is all about the 'people' that get 'organized' they are the ones with the vision and its my role to make that vision a reality.. and I am determined to work hard to fullfill that goal..'
